Gimp Purple Font Color

Gimp Procedure
1) start GIMP
2) hit File -> New 
3) Select 1024 x 768 template
4) Select the 'T' icon for text and click in the white area
5) Type the name of the image you want
6) Change the font, size, & color (Courier New Bold Italic 20)
7) Change the screen zoom to 100% (lower left) 
8) change the type of formatting (Script-Fu -> ...)
9) Use transparency
   1) layer -> stack -> select bottom layer -> delete layer
   *) Do this until just the checkboxes in the back
10) Save as ... -> GIF , export the image and hit ok
